Developing an online highscore table for my customer

June 30, 2017

In April this year I had a customer which was a music manager for some german artists. The company of the manager organizes a music festival every year in Chemnitz which is called "Kosmonaut Festival". This year he wanted something different for the festival. So he had the idea to publish an official game for the festival where the best player gets a free ticket including merch. So I got the job to develop a game which similars DoodleJump. And he wanted an online Highscore where all players are listed. So my solution was to develop an online highscore with phpMyAdmin/MySQL database. I wanted that this highscore table is available on Android and iOS. So both could post their score to the same highscore table and see the scores of every player regardless of the platform.

I use the HSController.cs from here and customize the code for my needs. The code from there had only three values: uniqueID, playerName, score. So I implement a fourth value "eMail". We needed the email of the players to contact the winner. Furthermore I implemented a field where you could post your email. In the end we have this highscore table where you can see your score, player name and others scores. Below you could send your mail if you did not do it right away.
